Privacy Policy

Introduction
Welcome to Wealthfolio, operated by Teymz Inc. (“we”, “our”, or “us”). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how the Wealthfolio application handles data.
This policy covers the Wealthfolio app itself. If you subscribe to Wealthfolio Connect, our optional cloud service for brokerage connections and device sync, the Wealthfolio Connect Privacy Policy also applies to that service.
Our Local-First Approach
Wealthfolio is designed with privacy in mind. Your financial data — accounts, holdings, transactions, budgets, and performance history — is stored in a local database on your device. We do not operate servers that receive, store, or process your financial data, and we do not use the application for behavioral analytics or advertising. The application sends only the limited operational data described below when you use network-connected features.
Data the Application Transmits
While your financial data stays on your device, some features involve network requests. Here is exactly what leaves your device and where it goes:
Update Checks
The app periodically contacts our update server to check for new versions. These requests include your app version, operating-system target, and processor architecture, which are needed to serve the correct update. We store only daily aggregate counts grouped by those values; our application database does not store an installation identifier or IP address for update checks.
You can disable automatic update checks under Settings → General → Check for updates automatically. When disabled, the app will not contact our update server automatically. If you manually check for updates, the request will still include the operational data described above.
Like any web request, an update check necessarily exposes your IP address and request metadata to our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process and temporarily retain that data in its infrastructure and operational or security logs under its own terms and privacy practices. Older application releases may also send a legacy random installation identifier in the request; our update service no longer records or uses it. No financial data is included in an update check.
Addon Store
When you browse the addon store, the app sends its version so we can return compatible addons. When you download an addon, we record only a daily aggregate count for the addon and version. Current application releases do not send an installation identifier for browsing or downloads, and our addon service does not record one for those activities. Older application releases may still include the legacy random identifier in the request until they are updated.
If you choose to rate an addon, the app sends the rating, any optional review text, the relevant app and addon versions, and a randomly generated installation identifier. We store that identifier with the rating solely to enforce one rating per installation per addon and to let a later submission from the same installation update the rating. The identifier is pseudonymous: it is not displayed in public rating responses, is not used to track update checks, browsing, or downloads, and we do not intentionally link it to your name, email address, or an account. Your rating and any review text may be displayed publicly, so do not include personal, financial, or confidential information in a review.
Addons You Install
Addons are optional extensions. Some are developed by us (“official” addons); community addons are developed by third parties. An addon may request permission to read your portfolio data and to contact external hosts over the network — you review and approve these permissions, including the specific hosts an addon may reach, when you install it. Once you grant them, an addon can send the data it is permitted to read to the hosts you approved. This traffic goes directly from your device to those hosts and never passes through our servers, and it is governed by that addon’s own terms. Only install addons you trust, and review the permissions requested before approving.
Market Data
The app fetches quotes and price history directly from the market data provider you configure (for example, Yahoo Finance, or another provider using your own API key). These requests go from your device to the provider, which receives your IP address and the symbols you request, under that provider’s own privacy policy. We do not receive or see this traffic.
AI Features (Bring Your Own Key)
If you configure an AI provider with your own API key, your questions — and only the portfolio data returned by the tools you allow the assistant to use — are sent directly from your device to that provider, under its privacy policy. This traffic never passes through our servers. Your API keys are stored in your operating system’s secure storage (such as Keychain on macOS, or Credential Manager on Windows).
Data Security
Your financial data is stored locally on your device and never transmitted to us. API keys and other secrets are kept in your operating system’s secure credential store. All network requests the app makes (update checks, addon store, market data) are encrypted in transit using TLS/HTTPS.
Your Rights
Your financial data lives on your device, under your direct control — you can delete all of it at any time by removing the application and its local database. We retain aggregate update-check and addon-download counts for operational and historical reporting; those aggregates are not tied to an installation identifier. We retain addon rating records, including the pseudonymous installation identifier, until the rating is removed or no longer needed for the purposes described above.
You may contact us to ask about, access, correct, or request deletion of personal data we hold about you. Because aggregate metrics are not associated with an individual and rating identifiers are not linked to an account, we may need information from you to locate and verify a relevant rating record. We may also retain information where required or permitted by law.
Our Website
Our website (wealthfolio.app) uses privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (Simple Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics) to measure aggregate page traffic. These services do not use advertising cookies and do not track you across other websites.
Children’s Privacy
Wealthfolio is not intended for individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be noted in the application’s release notes.
